The Mirror is an innovative training workshop designed to examine that trickiest of subjects - our biases and prejudices, and the impact these have in the workplace.

The workshop is based on the psychological literature on bias, our own research and the critically acclaimed book "The Value of Difference: Eliminating bias in organisations" written by Prof. Binna Kandola. We use the latest technology and simulation training methods to look at bias in a way that is constructive, engaging and informative. Through this open exploration of bias, participants are encouraged to recognise their personal biases and the impact that these have on the organisational environment they create around them.

Having explored what bias is and how it operates, participants learn how they can manage, and potentially eliminate their personal biases.

The Mirror is especially popular amongst clients looking to take the next big step in developing their organisation's approach to diversity, or to give their diversity strategy fresh impetus. Others are using the Mirror programme as a way to challenge their decision-makers' thinking around widening the talent pool, boosting people's career prospects; or bringing a new perspective to high-performance teams.

Top teams and managers in a range of public and private sector organisations have taken part in the Mirror programme. Some clients are now incorporating the workshop content into e-learning packages. We also provide a train-the-trainer option to equip our clients with the skills and knowledge they need to roll out the programme themselves within their own organisations.
