At Pearn Kandola, we have undertaken extensive research into Inclusive Leadership – what is it, who demonstrates it and how it can be developed across leader populations. Our ground breaking research builds on our work in unconscious bias, and significantly moves the diversity and inclusion agenda forward by helping leaders to focus on their personal behaviour and impact.
Our research has identified three key competencies of Inclusive Leadership relating to Culture, Relationships and Decision Making. These competencies form the basis of the Inclusive Leader programme, as we work alongside participants to build understanding of what it means in reality to be an inclusive leader, their current areas for strength and those for development, as well as the practical steps they need to take to enhance their inclusive leadership skills.
Critically, our Inclusive Leadership programme also includes a personal development planning component with follow-up. At the recent BPS Occupational Psychology conference we were able to present the results of an independent evaluation which identified the tangible impact of the programme, both in terms of perception of team members and practical outcomes achieved in terms of increased diversity.Inclusive leader surveys
As part of our research into Inclusive Leadership, we have also developed this unique tool designed to equip individual leaders with a detailed insight into their current inclusive leadership abilities. In addition to providing detailed individual feedback enabling leaders to pinpoint specific areas requiring action, the tool also provides collated data at a team, department or organisational level that allows a review of the key areas of diversity and inclusion strength, as well as those for development across the group.
