Sean is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology and a Diploma in Personnel Management. Before joining Pearn Kandola in 1989, Sean was an Organisation Development Manager at BT and held several research posts in academic and industrial training establishments.

During his consultancy career, Sean has managed a wide variety of projects with international and blue-chip organisations including Abbey National, Bayer, Diageo, Ernst & Young, GE, GlaxoWellcome, Henkel, Renesas, and Scottish & Newcastle. An expert in the design and implementation of assessment and development centres, Sean has undertaken numerous individual assessment and coaching assignments. His other areas of specialisation include management development, job analysis and psychometrics. Sean's special interest is the new field of Positive Psychology to promote satisfaction and fulfilment through the development of character strengths. He is one of the few people in the UK and Ireland being accredited to provide Authentic Happiness™ coaching.

A former co-editor of Selection and Development Review, Sean has contributed extensively to academic and professional journals and book chapters. He was a key contributor to Pearn Kandola’s Tools for Assessment & Development Centres, published by the CIPD.
