Clíona is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who joined Pearn Kandola in May 2001. She graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast, with a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology in 1998. Moving to London, Clíona spent three years working in the British Broadcasting Corporation where she managed a team of Occupational Psychologists working in the areas of competency-based assessment and development, training and team-building.

At Pearn Kandola, Clíona has worked with a wide range of public and private sector organisations both locally and globally, these include: KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, The Office for Health Management, ESB Networks, Mercer Consulting, Allied Irish Bank, Microsoft, Western Health Board and Olympus Europa. She has taken the lead on a number of assessment and development interventions which include: developing recruitment and selection policies and processes; delivery of interviewer and assessor skills training; design of development centres and 360 feedback processes; design and facilitation of workshops to train internal coaches for development; 1:1 coaching and mentoring. Clíona currently project manages the global development processes for senior managers in Sara Lee and has coached on these events in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia.

Clíona's area of specific interest is in managing the mental side of performance at work, which includes helping individuals build their emotional intelligence. Clíona was the lead psychologist in the design and rollout of a global emotional intelligence development programme for a leading IT organisation and has written several press articles in the area.
