Alison is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist specialising in Assessment and Development based in Oxford. She has a strong understanding of what constitutes best practice in relation to the assessment and development of people at work and uses this knowledge to underpin all her solutions. Alison has considerable experience of designing and delivering assessment processes for selection and development purposes and a strong interest in flexible working practices.

Alison obtained her first degree in Human Psychology at Aston University, followed by a Master’s degree at The University of Sheffield, where her dissertation examined the impact of goal setting on job-seeker motivation. She started her career at Wiltshire County Council where she played a key role in determining how psychometric tests and other structured assessment processes could be used in career development. In 1995, Alison joined Pearn Kandola where she worked with private and public sector clients to develop solutions to meet their assessment, development and diversity needs. She was also instrumental in setting up Pearn Kandola’s Research Division.

Family commitments led her to take a career break from Pearn Kandola in 2000. During her seven year break, she worked as a freelance Occupational Psychologist for clients including Royal Bank of Scotland, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch Investment Markets, DFES and the MOD. Alison rejoined Pearn Kandola as a Managing Psychologist in 2007 and is now working with clients including Price Waterhouse Coopers and the Northern Ireland Civil Service.
